After being elected seven times over a period of twenty-five years to serve as a judge in Collin County, Judge Curt Henderson semi-retired in October, 2010.  Today he serves as a senior state district judge, mediator and arbitrator. Having presided over thousands of civil, family and criminal cases,  Judge Henderson is known as a "no nonsense", hard-working, ethical and even-tempered judge. These qualities, as well as his experience as a prosecutor and judge, made him a valuable member of one of Texas' busiest courthouses. He was instrumental in the creation of the For Kids' Sake program in Texas and has been recognized for his efforts in protecting abused and neglected children, as well as promoting local attorney involvement in providing legal services for low-income Texans.

He has regularly provided leadership and direction for the legal community in Collin County, and he served longer than any other elected state district judge in the history of Collin County.

In 2001, he was the recipient of the Voice for Children Award from CASA of Collin County. In 2002 he received the Equal Justice Award from Legal Services of North Texas. In 2005, he received the Atticus Finch Award at the Collin County Bench Bar Conference. He has chaired the State Bar of Texas Computer and Technology Committee, and was an active voice for the use of technology to enhance and improve court services. In 2008, he received Lifetime Achievement in Technology Award from the Computer & Technology Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Appointed by Governor Clements in 1988 at the age of 35, Judge Henderson was one of the state's youngest state district court judges and he set the standard for the type of work ethic, judicial temperament and integrity that our judiciary needs.

Utilize his experience in your next mediation or arbitration.
